ABOUT THE ARTIST

Thomas Kelm works at the intersection of subculture, pop surrealism and contemporary reflections on cybernetics. His practice explores the complex relationship between human beings, machines and nature within an increasingly technologized world. Through an expressive, color-driven visual language, he combines painting, collage and digital processes to create hybrid image spaces that critically reflect on identity, control and consciousness.

ARTWORK STORY

This work is part of the Cybernetics series and explores an AI simulation of a honey extractor. Using a strongly expressionist mode of expression, I combine intuitive, emotionally charged gestures with Pop Art elements and critical reflections on technology. Painting, drawing, and collage merge into tense, sensorial visual spaces. This work is painted on canvas and is not stretched on a stretcher frame. It will be rolled and shipped without a frame.
