Gabriela Aleksandra Szuba, known as GAS, is a Polish artist based in Italy. After an education in economics, she embraced an independent artistic path driven by introspection and the desire to give visible form to the invisible. Her meditative paintings—crafted with acrylics, crackle paste, pigments, and gold leaf—explore fragility, time, and transcendence, turning matter into memory and light into spiritual presence. Exhibited internationally, her work invites silent reflection and emotional resonance.

ARTWORK STORY

In STASIS, time itself feels paused, held in a delicate equilibrium. Observe the deliberate, unhurried drips that traverse the surface, weaving through richly textured, cracked areas. This artwork is rendered in acrylic and gesso on canvas, with earthy tones of ochre, sand, deep browns, and clay, reminiscent of ancient, still landscapes. Each application of pigment and modeling paste captures a profound tension between fleeting moments and lasting form.
