Max Baris is a Dutch painter focused on urban landscapes and industrial objects. His work explores how urban structures present differently between various cities. Painting in oil on canvas, his works suggest or show the presence of people, though inactivity and emptiness reign. Baris takes you to distant destinations, inviting you to fantasize and look behind the paint.

ARTWORK STORY

In 2021 a woman passed a private house in Utrecht. Her day was done and with strong steps she went. Probably home. As in these corona times it is not easy to head to other places with the nice places (cafés, cinemas, restaurants, theaters) are closed, waiting for better times
