Murielle Argoud
Murielle Argoud is a French artist trained in different European contexts. Her work focuses on what is not immediately visible, shaped by close observation and personal experience. Inspired by natural phenomena, landscapes, and perception, her practice avoids theory and is grounded in direct experience and a long-term commitment to painting.
Her paintings engage with the dynamics of air, water and light, approaching forces that cannot be fixed or fully grasped. Drawing from elemental movements, her compositions unfold through rhythm and variations of intensity, guiding the gaze across the surface and extending perception beyond what is immediately seen.
Argoud builds her surfaces through layered applications of oil and acrylic, combined with materials such as sand, lava and gold leaf. These elements form dense, textured fields in which light circulates through depth, giving the painting a material presence that remains in constant activation.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including the Venice Biennale, Agora Gallery in New York, and in numerous exhibitions across Switzerland, France and Italy.
