ABOUT THE ARTIST

Architect by training, educator in Art History and Drawing, and multidisciplinary artist, Marco Ronga has pursued a lifelong creative vocation that has led him to exhibit across major Italian cities and prestigious international venues. An award-winning painter and sculptor, his work has been featured in international art publications and global exhibitions. Ronga’s signature style seamlessly weaves together portraiture, the human figure, and the evocative structures of urban architecture and landscape—creating what can best be described as "portraits of places and landscapes of bodies." Working primarily in acrylics and oils on canvas and wood panels, his pieces explore the visual and conceptual dialogue between space, form, and human emotion.

ARTWORK STORY

The painting depicts the Canale dei Greci at night in Venice. The palette is expressionist: intense blues, electric greens, and the bright yellows of artificial lights. The painting is made of acrylics on masonite, but has a unique feature: a different subject has been painted on the back of the panel. The same colors, but a dreamlike image of a couple, a man and a woman suspended in the air over an ocean-like landscape with coral atolls. Therefore, the image can be changed.
