ABOUT THE ARTIST

Architect by training, educator in Art History and Drawing, and multidisciplinary artist, Marco Ronga has pursued a lifelong creative vocation that has led him to exhibit across major Italian cities and prestigious international venues. An award-winning painter and sculptor, his work has been featured in international art publications and global exhibitions. Ronga’s signature style seamlessly weaves together portraiture, the human figure, and the evocative structures of urban architecture and landscape—creating what can best be described as "portraits of places and landscapes of bodies." Working primarily in acrylics and oils on canvas and wood panels, his pieces explore the visual and conceptual dialogue between space, form, and human emotion.

ARTWORK STORY

The painting draws inspiration from the painter's period of study in Venice. His room was on the top floor of a Gothic palazzo on the Canale dei Greci, in the San Marco district. The windows overlooked spectacular rooftops, but the sky was the most extraordinary stage: in the moonlight, the clouds took center stage. The use of expressionist colors characterized his work during that period. Color reaches the soul with emotion.
