Bernhard Lang | Aerial Views
Since 2010, Bernhard Lang has been refining his acclaimed project "Aerial Views," capturing the world from the open doors of helicopters and small aircraft. His work seeks out the intricate patterns and structures etched into the Earth's surface, specifically focusing on the visible impact of human activity on the environment.
By freeing the viewer from the bonds of gravity, Lang’s photography encourages a detached, contemplative look at our global footprint. His work investigates a compelling duality: the strange, often beautiful balance between aesthetic perfection and environmental destruction, and the precarious struggle for symbiosis between humanity and nature.
