Every painting begins with something that quietly asks me to stop.
My hope is that, every now and then, it might invite you to do the same.
I paint contemporary abstract landscapes inspired by the quiet conversations between light, colour, sea and sky. Rather than capturing a place exactly as it appears, I follow the moments that keep drawing me back until they reveal something I hadn't noticed before.
Each painting begins with a question rather than an answer. I don't set out to explain what you should see. I listen, return, and allow the painting to become what it wants to become. Somewhere along the way, I usually discover that it has been teaching me something too.
Over the years I've realised that every painting belongs to a season of our lives. Some whisper through light. Others dance through colour. Together they have become two continuing collections: Where Light Whispers and Where Colour Dances.
If one of my paintings quietly asks you to stay a little longer, then perhaps we've found each other.
