Marta Grassi is an Uruguayan artist living in France. Her work is imbued with the imagery of South America and the magical realism of its literature, populated by imaginary characters, most often women. These women, shamans, fairies or witches are strong and powerful and appear to us in an environment just evoked, going towards abstraction. They stare at the spectator and seem to question him. The viewer is free to interpret the intention of this gaze on him.
Marta Grassi shows her work in France since 2015, she has received several awards at art fairs, such as the one recently awarded by the Taylor Foundation.
