ABOUT THE ARTIST

Harald Beierl is a German painter and draftsman born in 1969. Deeply committed to equality and a fair future, his work explores the fragility of our world through symbolic imagery, such as ladders (consciousness) and hearts (love). A pivotal artist residency in Hungary marked his transition from amateur to professional, refining his intuitive and detail-oriented approach. Beierl has exhibited in Germany, Hungary, and Italy, including at the Florence Biennale.

ARTWORK STORY

Ein oranger Wal nähert sich im Meer und besucht ein Dorf von Inuits. Es liegt Schnee der immer mehr zusammenschmilzt. Der Wal ist erstaunt darüber und sieht sich das Drama aus seinem Lebensraum an. Das Bild ist gemalt mit Öl auf selbst hergestellter und grundierter Leinwand in expressivem Pinselduktus. Teilweise wurde mit Graphitstift in die noch feuchte Ölfarbe gekratzt
