ABOUT THE ARTIST

Patrick Cornée is a French painter and sculptor whose work has been exhibited internationally, including in China, Russia, England, and France. Inspired by Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement, his works are vibrant, full of color, and feature humorous characters and perspectives. Cornée aims to evoke joy, energy, and a love of life through his paintings and sculptures.

ARTWORK STORY

In this work, I fuse the boldness of graffiti with the liveliness of oil paint to vibratingly engage the viewer. Borrowing from pop culture and comic book icons, I present a chic skeleton, symbolising both mortality and indifference to social judgement. Surrounded by smiling faces, the image encourages us to live life to the full, to embrace each moment with boldness and colour.
