Sapphire

I work in a studio in South London in both 2D and 3D, using a variety of materials. I can be inspired to work from almost anything: Nature, films, words, period style (e.g. Art Deco). The subject matter is actually a motive to explore the medium I choose to use. As soon as I am excited by a subject I love to discover whether I shall do it in 2D or 3D and then just enjoy the process. The best explanation of what I would eventually produce is contained in a quotation from Matisse: "What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter - a soothing, calming, influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatique."
