Italian visual artist, born in Gorizia in 1957 in a city divided by a wall - a smaller, forgotten twin of the Berlin Wall. Raised between Italy and Brazil after a childhood crossing of oceans, shaped by decades at CERN, where physicists taught me that reality has more than one truth, and by 27 years at the International Labour Organization in Geneva, among colleagues from 187 countries. Today I live and work between Vienna and Barcelona.
My practice is an alchemy of mixed media on canvas, epoxy resin on panel and Bohemian crystal. I layer the ancestral weight of bitumen, iron powder and marble dust with the modern fluidity of acrylics, alongside found and recycled materials. Influences run from Zao Wou-Ki and Rothko to de Kooning and Soulages, with the Japanese concept of "ma", space as breath, resonating through every horizon line.
A life lived across borders translated into light, matter and colour. The initial fractures became crossings and the crossings became horizons.
