Roberto Romei Rotondo is an Italian-born artist whose practice is defined by a lifelong pursuit of aesthetic discovery and a refusal of creative repetition. Born in Milan and later established in Montreal, his artistic foundation was solidified during his Master of Arts studies under the mentorship of the renowned painter Guido Molinari. This academic background serves as a springboard for a deeply instinctive approach to painting. He consciously prioritizes raw expression over the constraints of formal technique, allowing his work to evolve naturally. His practice has transitioned from realism toward a sophisticated abstract language, navigating a shifting relationship with color and light. After decades spent exploring muted shades, he has recently returned to a vibrant, chromatic intensity.
