Finnish visual artist Tanja Nyo (b.1969) graduated as a painter in Helsinki based art school in 2018. She lives and works in Porvoo, Finland, and holds solo and group shows actively in Finland and abroad. Her works can be found in private collections in Europe.
" I am primarily abstract painter. Themes deal with contemporary phenomena, corporeality, brain, movement and rhythm, as well as the human relationship to the ecosystem. Time does not appear in my paintings as a linear narrative, but as a layered experience: as memory, movement and constant change. This is evident in the multi-layered nature of my works and references to the past and present simultaneously.
Although the works are abstract, they often refer to organic shapes, cell-like structures and rhythms reminiscent of biological processes. Corporeality is not anatomical depiction, but sensory and experiential."
