Anne Mariën is a Belgian artist. She creates abstract and expressive paintings inspired by the origins of things: the universe, nature, life, and energy. In 2000, she began studying with the artist and activist Frans Croes. He noticed that Anne needed to experience artistic freedom; unlimited and unfettered. In his attic studio, she developed her adventurous style. Deep-seated feelings are expressed unconventionally with paint. Something unique emerges on the canvas that cannot be painted in a classical way, that cannot be planned in advance, but that is surprising and emerges spontaneously in the process. Anne Mariën's art is described as positive-abstract art with a feminin energy. For the artist, a painting is like experiencing an inner journey. This makes her art intimate and dynamic.
