MACH LAUT, BABY! (TURN THE VOLUME UP, BABY!)

Carolyn Kraft found her way to art through a deeply personal turning point. Her daughter's diagnosis of type 1 diabetes changed everything and made painting a place of self-assurance, energy and freedom. Out of spontaneous gestures and raw emotion, she developed a distinctive abstract visual language shaped by urban dynamism and a fascination with big cities. Inspired by New York and the aesthetics of public space, she now combines expressive painting with the energy of street art, creating works that make movement, new beginnings and a zest for life visible. Carolyn Kraft's work stands in the tradition of Abstract Expressionism while drawing on the visual language of urban culture. Her gestural lines, layered fields of color and spontaneous marks recall the energy of graffiti and action painting without losing their raw directness. The canvas becomes a resonating space for movement, speed and emotional intensity. Behind the apparent immediacy of her paintings lies a search for freedom and self-determination, an artistic expression that transforms personal experience into universal images of hope, courage and new beginnings. Her painting celebrates the city not just as a place but as a mindset: a promise that change is possible and that identity can always be reinvented.
