Edelgard Schroer is a German contemporary artist whose paintings combine expressive textures, sophisticated colour compositions and a distinctive sense of depth. For more than 20 years, she has been creating original acrylic paintings that explore the interplay of colour, light, movement and material.
Her artistic journey was influenced by her studies and collaboration with the Düsseldorf-based artist Jean Pellen. Coming from a family with an artistic heritage, she is also the granddaughter of painter Johann Keuten.
Since 2003, Edelgard has run her own gallery and framing workshop in Geldern, Germany, where she develops her paintings and carefully selects frames that complement their individual character.
Texture plays a central role in her work. Using acrylic paints, modelling paste, sand, natural materials and metallic accents, including genuine gold leaf, she creates richly layered surfaces that invite the viewer to discover new details from different perspectives.
Her artistic range extends from atmospheric abstract landscapes and seascapes to floral compositions and expressive, almost sculptural abstractions. Although her subjects vary, her paintings share a recognisable visual language defined by depth, carefully balanced colours and tactile surfaces.
Each painting is an original work, created with a strong appreciation for craftsmanship, individuality and the emotional impact of art.
