ABOUT THE ARTIST

Fattack is an artistic duo based in Spain, but we strive to speak to the world. We consider ourselves artists of our time, with distinctly contemporary intentions, speaking of our era. We believe in art that questions and marvels, that communicates and is a child of the time in which it develops. We capture sorrows, contradictions, and our unconsidered inertia, but also our joys, our achievements, and our sense of humor—the latter being an extremely important tool for counteracting the bleak landscape with which the interests of the powerful so often color, or attempt to color, our beautiful world. Therefore, all our artistic work addresses the lives we lead, our lives as individuals and also, and above all, as part of a social group. Our images arise from imagination and critique, a critical, attentive, and analytical observation of the inertia and routines that we all assume as a social mass, but which does not forget artistic appreciation, the communication of energy and emotions, and our magnificent capacity to adapt to difficulties. In the scene, the characters suffer the consequences of their own obstinacy or blindness, into which they inscribe their lives, pursuing desires or needs that are created, not real, implanted by the relentless bombardment of advertising and societal promises of self-determination, yet still harboring fragments of a will to improve. And this is what we do at Fattack: send a message of resilience through art, communicate that change is still possible. GET READY FOR THE FATTACK!!!

ARTWORK STORY

This piece is part of a series of small-format paintings that depict characters, people, or ways of being. This particular piece speaks of the eroticism of power and the power of eroticism in social media and in the relationships between business, work, and social life, something that remains hidden at the base of patriarchal education, the discrimination and culture to the detriment of women and their social figure despite their emancipation and public power.
