ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in Chomutov, in West Bohemia (then Czechoslovakia), Olga Schrüfer-Kozlova grew up in Karlovy Vary, where she completed her baccalaureate and studied languages and tourism economics, alongside fine arts under Professor Ludva. After leaving Czechoslovakia during the Prague Spring in 1968, she settled in Germany and continued her painting studies with Professor Hinsch in Göttingen. From 1979 onward, she exhibited internationally in Germany, France, Monaco, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the United States, and Canada. Her works are held in numerous private and public collections worldwide. Now living and working near Étretat, on the coast of Normandy, in France, she devotes her practice to landscapes suffused with light. Echoing Goethe’s words, “Colors are the deeds and sufferings of light,” her paintings reveal a profound, luminous depth.
