ABOUT THE ARTIST

Michaël Brack is a French painter and draftsman whose oils, inks, and charcoals evoke unsettling atmospheres of emptiness and solitude. Inspired by his own photographs, he distills scenes into minimal yet powerful images—winding passages, corridors, and stairs that open onto a universe of haunting strangeness.

ARTWORK STORY

One of my latest works from 2025. I started with a photo of the garden of a castle I visited this summer, with this outbuilding and its abandoned pond. The photo was taken during the day, but I set the scene at night to add the lit window and its reflection.
