ABOUT THE ARTIST

Michaël Brack is a French painter and draftsman whose oils, inks, and charcoals evoke unsettling atmospheres of emptiness and solitude. Inspired by his own photographs, he distills scenes into minimal yet powerful images—winding passages, corridors, and stairs that open onto a universe of haunting strangeness.

ARTWORK STORY

This small painting mainly served as a test for a new type of panel as a medium... I started painting shapes somewhat randomly, and the buildings gradually emerged, creating the semi-realistic, semi-dreamlike atmosphere found in many of my paintings.
