Manuel Franken is a Berlin-based abstract artist whose paintings bring together expansive forms, layered textures and a quiet sense of balance. Inspired by southern landscapes, weathered architecture and memories of travel, he translates these impressions into colour, surface and atmosphere. Working with acrylic, plaster, sand and lime, he builds his paintings through successive layers, balancing deliberate composition with the irregularities of his materials. Rough surfaces meet fine lines and open spaces, creating a tension between stillness and movement. His works invite a slower gaze, revealing subtle details and leaving room for personal associations.
