I’m Robert Palm, a Swiss-based entrepreneur with a lifelong passion for art—especially contemporary art. Over the years, I’ve built my own private collection and spent countless hours exploring both online art marketplaces and traditional galleries. And yet, a question has always stayed with me: What is the true value of an artwork? What is the real standing of an artist?

Galleries undoubtedly provide an important service, maintaining spaces, curating exhibitions, supporting artists, and their commissions are justified by these efforts. But when it comes to online platforms, can the same truly be said?

Through conversations with artists and my own experience organising exhibitions in several Swiss cities, I came to a clear conclusion: something was missing. There was no truly fair, effective, and transparent online tool for artists to showcase and sell their work. That realisation led me to create New Art Day.

New Art Day takes zero commission on sales. Yes, you read that right: 100% of the sale price goes directly to the artist. Instead, our service is funded through a monthly or annual membership fee, giving artists complete freedom to manage their accounts, upload their full body of work without hesitation, and enjoy their own personal online gallery to share with their collectors.

We also encourage artists to let their buyers know about their presence on New Art Day, fostering a direct connection that feels authentic and sustainable. For collectors, it is equally reassuring: every cent you pay supports the artist, with no hidden fees or commissions.
