ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ramon Bruin is an experienced artist from the Netherlands whose paintings have been featured in solo and group shows internationally. Working in the styles of abstract-expressionism and pop art, Bruin creates vibrant paintings in mixed media that emphasize contrasts between colors and forms. He adds a light sense of humor to his artworks, hoping to bring joy to viewers.

ARTWORK STORY

'How do you come up with this stuff?' is often a question. Well, sometimes a just sit on the toilet and images comes to mind. This is a cool self portrait about inspiration. It is painted in a pop art style with neo-expressionistic influences. Deliberately I used soft, pastel colors for the piece to make it easy on the eyes. I realize this style isn't for everyone. This style suits fun people who enjoys a laugh and don't take it all to serious.
