Fabrice Leito is a painter born in 1995. From his studio near Lyon - France, he explores the quiet power, emotions, and raw beauty of the people and living beings around him. He’s deeply inspired by the energy they give off, capturing fleeting feelings and impressions in his memory before turning them into paintings.
Acrylic paint is his favorite medium and his work is all about texture, movement, and emotion. Whether he paints on canvas, wood, or metal, each piece carries a strong physical and emotional presence.
Even when he begins with a clear idea in mind, he quickly lets instinct take over. His work grows naturally through emotion, movement and the mood of the moment. One thing that really defines his process is that he never goes back to “fix” mistakes or accidents in his practice, he embraces them as part of the piece itself.
His artist name, “Leito,” is actually an anagram of the French word toile (“canvas”). It was a nickname given to him by classmates during art school because of his obsession with canvas and the endless possibilities it offered him.
