Alessandra Bisi
Alessandra Bisi approaches painting as a way to give form to emotions through color and structure. Her work is grounded in a long practice of observing and studying the great masters, from whom she developed a precise understanding of how visual language can convey inner states. Her abstract paintings translate feelings into images that can be directly perceived. She constructs compositions in which color and form carry these emotions, allowing the viewer to experience them visually.
She was born in Milan in 1965, where she lives and works. She trained at the Liceo Artistico Hajech di Brera and at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, before continuing her studies in visual design at the Istituto Superiore di Design in Milan. Her career includes numerous exhibitions in Italy and internationally, with shows in cities such as Milan, Venice, New York and Rabat. She has participated in art fairs, residencies and international projects, including exhibitions connected to the Venice Biennale and UNESCO initiatives. Her work has been presented in galleries, institutions and public spaces, and is held in private collections. She is also included in the Catalogo dell’Arte Moderna Mondadori and is part of the Museo della Permanente in Milan.
Alessandra Bisi’s practice moves across painting, installation and visual experimentation. Her work often develops through layered surfaces, where color and composition are built progressively. Her background in design informs a strong sense of structure and spatial organization, while her interest in architecture extends her work into interior contexts and site-specific commissions. She also explores combinations of media, integrating painting with video or installation, expanding the field of her practice beyond the canvas.
