Nathalie Gribinski
Nathalie Gribinski is a French-American artist born in Algiers, raised in Paris, and based in Chicago. After an initial training in law, she turned to the visual arts in the United States, studying fine arts and graphic design before establishing a practice that spans painting, illustration, and design. Her work has been exhibited internationally, recognized through illustration and poster awards, and is held in private and corporate collections. Over more than two decades, she has built a distinctive and evolving career.
Nathalie Gribinski creates paintings driven by joy and movement. She works intuitively and stresses the importance of being in a positive state of mind to paint, allowing mood and energy to guide the surface. She often connects her process to doodling: spontaneous lines that grow freely, without hierarchy, until they form a living composition. Using oil markers, acrylics, and mixed media, she develops lively spaces where figures, animals, and symbols circulate in rhythmic constellations. Bright color and looping lines give her work an immediate sense of openness and vitality.
While certain recurring motifs make her universe recognizable, her practice is not fixed to a single formula. She moves across styles and visual approaches, keeping experimentation central. This flexibility sustains a body of work in constant motion, where reinvention becomes a strength. Across styles and mediums, Nathalie Gribinski has built a rich and recognizable universe, anchored in a personal visual language that feels joyful, confident, and unmistakably her own.
