[Focus] – Daniela Schweinsberg, “Blumenwiese 3”, 2025
Daniela Schweinsberg, Blumenwiese 3, 2025, Acrylic on canvas, mixed media, 150 × 150 × 2 cm
The work is built from sweeping green layers that spread across the raw canvas like dense vegetation. The brushstrokes stay visible. They overlap, drip, and collide, so the surface reads as movement frozen mid-gesture. Nothing is tidy or decorative. The image grows through accumulation, like a field that keeps thickening.
Neon pink flower shapes break through this green mass. They are simplified almost to icons, flashes of color that guide the eye across the canvas. Their artificial brightness contrasts with the earthy greens and creates tension between something natural and something deliberately constructed.
Daniela Schweinsberg leaves the act of painting fully exposed. The canvas does not hide its making. It shows how Blumenwiese 3 came into being. The meadow exists not as an illusion but as a physical event, paint, gesture, and surface locked together, turning growth itself into the subject of the work.
