ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in 1962 in Poland, Mariusz graduated with an MA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 1987. As a painter, draughtsman, printmaker, and graphic designer.
Since relocating to the UK in 1996, he has expanded his artistic horizons. From 2002 to 2013, he served as Artist in Residence at London’s stunning Regent’s Park, and since 2009, he has collaborated with the National Trust as the dedicated artist for the South East region.
His captivating depictions of nature have garnered numerous accolades, including the prestigious Main Prize and Editor’s Choice from The Artist Magazine in 2006. His impressive list of awards also features honors from Windsor & Newton, Pro Arte, Caran D’Ache, and Royal Talens, culminating in a standout win from Nina Hosali's "Free Painters and Sculptors" in the same year.
In Poland, he has embarked on innovative art/music projects, creating large friezes that add a visual dimension to classical music. In 2000, he completed a breathtaking 22-meter frieze, "Four Seasons, Four Stages of Life," which serves as a vivid expression of Vivaldi’s music and is performed live alongside the Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra ‘Amadeus.’ He has also crafted artistic interpretations for Piazzolla’s version of the ‘Four Seasons,’ a triptych inspired by Chopin, and a series of large-scale works accompanying Mussorgsky’s ‘Pictures from an Exhibition.’
