ABOUT THE ARTIST

Marie-Ghislaine Beauce is an artist who merges textiles with found objects, drawing inspiration from fabrics and her training at the École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes. Her tapestries incorporate materials such as 8mm film, jersey, and painted cardboard, echoing the techniques of Grau-Garriga. Through richly textured surfaces, she explores the tactile depth of human emotion and the layered nature of memory.

ARTWORK STORY

Highly inspired by nature and its chromatic hues, this semi-abstract woven work interlaces the luminosity of the natural environment by the use of varied textiles elements of colour and fabric. The infrastructure of the composition combines a sophisticated mixture of abstraction which focuses on the universal language of form and line. Fusing the lush woven work with the careful balance of colours, this work encapsulate a strong sense of serenity.
