ABOUT THE ARTIST

I am Nathalie Gribinski, a French-American artist based in Chicago. My work is driven by intuition, movement, and a deep love of color. Using oil markers and acrylics, I create playful, rhythmic worlds where figures, animals, and symbols dance freely. Inspired by music, nature, and inner emotion, my paintings celebrate joy, connection, and the poetry of life in constant motion.

ARTWORK STORY

This work is developed through automatic, continuous line drawing, allowing interconnected forms to surface intuitively without preliminary sketches. Influenced by Joan Miró’s biomorphic surrealism and Paul Klee’s symbolic, rhythmic language, the composition unfolds like a visual improvisation. Hand-drawn contours contain vibrant, contrasting color zones that suggest movement, balance, and inner life, where eye-like, cellular, and gestural shapes evoke perception and playfulness.
