Michaël Brack is a French painter and draftsman whose oils, inks, and charcoals evoke unsettling atmospheres of emptiness and solitude. Inspired by his own photographs, he distills scenes into minimal yet powerful images—winding passages, corridors, and stairs that open onto a universe of haunting strangeness.

ARTWORK STORY

I started with a photo of a building entrance not far from my home (I take a lot of photos of building entrances...). The final result is quite different since the door was originally an elevator...
